Berdoll’s prides itself on providing the highest quality pecan trees available.
We are back in the nursery business with 20 years of tree growing experience.
We hope you find the following information helpful
when selecting a pecan tree from us.

ABOUT OUR TREES…

  • Our trees are approximately 6-10 feet tall.

  • The trees are planted in a 24-inch tall, 12-inch diameter container that is specifically designed for pecan trees.

  • They have a 2-3 year root (meaning the nut has been planted for 2-3 years).

  • They have a 1-2 year top (meaning the tree has been growing for 1-2 years since it was grafted to be a specific variety).

  • All of our trees are Elliot rootstock.

  • Most pecan trees will be 5-7 years old before they produce pecans. Production depends on the variety of tree, soil, water application, spray program and weather. Earliest production may be 4 years with the right conditions and care.

ABOUT THE VARIETIES OF TREES WE OFFER…

AS OF JANUARY 2007 DESIRABLE, CHEYENNE, AND PAWNEE VARIETIES ONLY!

  • Cheyenne-yields a smaller but very high quality nut, dwarf tree, susceptible to aphids therefore not recommended for a yard tree.

  • Choctaw-yields a large nut, is a beautiful tree, makes a good yard tree.

  • Desirable-yields a large nut, is a consistent producer, does not yield large crops, is a late producer, makes a good yard tree.

  • Pawnee-fast grower, early producer, requires less maintenance than some of the other varieties. We feel this is the best yard tree.

  • Wichita-needs intense spray management, not recommended for yard tree. SOLD OUT
